WELCOME TO SERRA CLUB
OF NORTH IDAHO
OF NORTH IDAHO
The Serra Club of North Idaho is one of over 800 Serra Clubs in 40 countries, and the only one in Idaho. The Serra Club of North Idaho currently has 44 members, over 400 31-Club members that are praying for vocations and eight home-bound apostolate members. Over 100 families have adopted a seminarian. All members are parishioners of St. Thomas, St. George, St. Pope Pius, St. Joan of Arc and St. Stanislaus.
Our mission, under the guidance of our Spiritual Chaplin, Fr. Mariusz Majewski, is to pray for vocations, foster and promote vocations, support priests in their sacred ministry, and to encourage and affirm vocations to consecrated life in the Catholic Church.
When the Serra Club of North Idaho was formally chartered in September 2015, at the request of Bishop Peter Christensen, there had been no priestly ordinations in the Idaho Diocese for six years.
Since then, four seminarians have been ordained as Diocesan Priests: Fr. Uhlencott (2016), Fr. Kurcera (2017), Fr. Nathan Dail and Fr. Joseph Lustig (2018). We currently have eight diocesan seminarians, six at Mt. Angel and two at Bishop White Seminary. We also have one FSSP Seminarian and two studying to become Jesuit priests.
Bishop Christensen has asked all Catholics in the diocese to pray and support religious vocations and to strengthen the life of Catholic families in Idaho.
"The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few."
